Kennedy has been named director of communications and public relations for the United Dairy Industry Association (UDIA), effective Oct. 17. His respon sibilities include implementation of all public relations and com munications programs designed in cooperation with communications personnel from UDIA member organizations and affiliated units. Kennedy previously served as director of public relations and consumer affairs for Spartan Stores, Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and as vice president, account development, for Norman, Navan, Moore & Baird, a public relations agency also located in Grand Rapids. SYRACUSE - Raymond Johnson, President of the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council (ADA/DC), has announced the appointment of Brian P. Ward as Executive Vice President of the organization. The announcement was made at a full board meeting held on Oct. 30, in Syracuse. Mr. Ward has served as interim manager of AD A/DC for the past six months. He joined the Association in 1981 as director of the Foodservice Division. In his new assignment, Ward will be responsible for carrying out the policies add programs as designated by the ADA/DC Board of Directors. He will oversee all advertising and sales promotion programs, as well as general office operations. Prior to joining ADA/DC, Ward worked with Jewel Companies, Inc. as Operations Manager.
