Special tribute was paid to Barbara Moore, a member of Society #l, who has attended each of the 67 conventions, and who is celebrating her 100th birthday this month. Mrs. Moore, Lititz, is a HUSKY LAGOON PUMP DUAL INLET charter member of Society #l, and helped organize Societies #2, #3, #5, and #7. For a short time she was a member of Society #4. Mrs. Moore served as the county’s first secretary and was the fifth county president. ' Before giving the blessing for the noon meal, Mrs. Moore said that her daughter is treating her to something special in each month of her birthday year. Mrs. Moore is employed part tune and drives her own car. Richard McMillian, executive director of the Water Street Rescue Mission, accepted a check in the amount of $3,495, representing contributions of all the societies as their county project. MvMillam said the money is earmarked specifically for the Mission’s women and children shelter which is in its third year. The facility has 28 beds and is available to homeless women and children. Speaker karl Kettering, president of Progress Through People, Inc., told the women they must know what they are doing, love what they are doing, and believe in what they are doing, to get the most out of life. In his unique imspirational style of laughter and conviction, Kettering told the women they must believe 100 percent in themselves.
