    Philadelphia Eggs
Thursday, November 8
Report supplied by USD A
Market Comment; Prices were
unchanged to higher. Cartoned egg
orders were fair to good and
generally noted as improved
compared to last week. Floor
stocks were adequate to fully
adequate with some dealers ten
ding to let inventories build rather
than sell any accumulated
product. Lighter weight class I’s
were available while the heavier
weights were tight and con
veniently held. Graded loose large
were fully adequate and rather
easy to find if needed. Mediums,
both graded and ungraded, were in
excess of current needs and most
local producer-packers have
surplus stocks to sell. Extra large
were irregular. Some dealers were
still being offered additional
product, but the bulk of dealers
found supplies no more than
adequate and were willing to take
on additional stocks.

Thursday, November 8
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Movement on
ready to cook whole birds
remained fairly good but not as
aggressive as early in the week.
Current product was clearing, but
carryovers were noted in a few
quarters. Breast items continue to
enjoy a fairly strong call while
dark meat items were ample and
difficult to clear. The overall
slaughter was moderately heavy.
Live supplies were adequate.
Weights were very irregular, but
overall weights were trending
slightly lighter at most plants.
Undertone was steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at .52-
.58-cents.
