The show’s reserve Angus bull
was Southern Pride, a Krueger’s
Foolish Pride son, owned by
Stivers Angus of Pittstown, NJ,
and Circle G Angus, of Georgia.
The champion Simmental heifer
was Triple F Miss Shauna, owned
by Sutherland Valley Farm of
Lewisville, Ohio. Sutherland,
owned by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Ritchie, also exhibited the junior
champion, with both winners out of
the Movin-On sire.
The reserve champion heifer
was Circle B Miss, owned by
Roberts Simmental of Cum
berland, Ohio.
Simmental breeder Scott Crull
came all the way from Elwood,
Ind., to take top honors in the bull
competition with Crull’s Radar, a
Mr. Clean son that was reserve
champion at last year’s Indiana
State Fair.
The reserve grand champion
bull was Wheatley Prospector,
owned by Joseph Messick of
Middletown, Pa.
The race for grand champion
heifer in the Shorthorn show
proved to be a repeat performance
for at least one the McLaughlins, of
Woodsfield, Ohio. Ed McLaughlin
retained his grand champion title,
also earned in the Junior show,
with CF Miss Marjorie, a summer
yearling sired by CU Gator.
The reserve champion heifer
was an Albo daughter owned by
Terry and Rhonda Kibler of
Woodstock, Va.
Gerrobin Sheriff, owned by
Ronald Bates and Family of Blue
Rock, Ohio, was named champion
Shorthorn bull by judge Steve
Ed McLaughlin shows his grand champion Shorthorn
heifer.
Diane Moody also had the grand champion Hereford bull
Spencer Church of Georgetown Farms shows his grand
champion Polled Hereford bull.

In the Hereford show, judge
Herman Purdy singled out his calf
champion, KMLI Markette, for
grand champion heifer honors.
Owned by Diane Moody of New
Concord, Ohio, the top heifer was
sired by Lone Star Domino.
Reserve champion heifer honors
went to Pa. cattleman Richard A.
Kralj of Saegertown.
Once again Ohio’s Diane Moody
took top honors when two of her
Hereford bulls, both sired by Lone
Star Domino, were named grand
and reserve grand champions in
Hereford bull competition.
