HARRISBURG With the avian
influenza quarantine withdrawn
and the inventory of poultry farms
at pre-quarantine levels, the
Pennsylvania Department of
Agriculture has rescinded the ban
on exhibition of live birds, in
cluding one of the largest poultry
exhibitions in the state - the
Pennsylvania Farm Show,
January 13-18,1985.

them of the decision.
“The determination to resume
exhibition of birds stems from the
fact that lethal avian influenza has
been eradicated in Pennsylvania
and that poultry farms affected by
the quarantine have restocked
their operations to normal levels,”

According to the secretary, i
officially endorsed poultry health
certificates must accompany the
entries. In addition, requirements
indicating avian influenza free
status were spelled out in the
letter. Exhibitors have until
November 1 to submit entries.
