Beacon honors Rudisill
At the Annual Sales Conference of The Beacon Milling
Company, Inc. held at Wells College, Aurora, N.Y., Golden
Eagle Awards were presented to the employees who achieved
the best performance in four categories. In the accompanying
photograph, President Wilbur L. Townsend, right, is shown
presenting a Golden Eagle Award to Raymond E. Rudisill,
S&D Area Manager, Rudisill and his wife Helen, reside at 449
Hill-N-Dale Drive, York. At this same Conference, Rudisill
was also presented with a 35 year Service Award Certificate,
a diamond Service Pin and a wallet containing a check for his
years of service.

GETTYSBURG - The Penn
sylvania State Grange has an
nounced winners in the state deaf
Sign-a-Song contest, conducted
during the convention activities in
Gettysburg last week.
The contest consists of the
signing of words to popular songs
combined with rhythmical dance
hke movements. The objective is
to help deaf persons to not only
understand the words, but also feel
the rhythm of the music.
Contestants were judged in two
categories of competition—
Category 1, for one or two persons,
and Category 2, for three or more
persons.
Winners in the first category of
sign singing competition were
Wanda Galhmore of Adams
County, first place, signing “Just
Another Woman in Love;" Lois
Steele, Chester County, second
place, signing “Nobody;” and
MeeCee Baker, Juniata County,
signing “Run For the Roses.”
In Category 2 for groups, first
place went to Lois Steele, Betsy
Huber, Ellen Huber, Virginia
Buffington and Alicia Broomall
from Chester County for their
rendition of "Ghostbusters,” and
second place to Nancy, Ray and Ila
May McMilhn from
County for signing the song,
“You’ll Never Walk Alone "
First place winners at the state
level advance to the Mid Atlantic
Regional Competition of the nine
states in the Mid Atlantic region
