MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged. Cartoned egg orders
were generally heavier than week
ago, but most traders still noted
movement as only fair. Retail
features have also generated
stronger orders, and this has put
most dealers in a better balance
supply-wise; however, graded
stocks of large and extra large
were ample and additional product
was easily available. The most
improvement had been in the in
jury for nest runs, but this interest
has 1 been filled in most instances.
Mediums were fully adequate,
smalls irregular, but the demand
was usually filled from local
sources.
Undertone steadier but con
fused.

Market Comment: Ready to
cook movement of whole birds was
fair to good. Current production
cleared fairly well in most quar
ters although an occasional plant
still noted some carry-over and
improved demand slightly lighter
kills, and weights has all added to
an improved supply position
Breasts and cutlets were well
cleared. Legs and wings adequate.
Leg quarters moving under a
much improved call.
Overall slaughter was
moderately heavy. Live supplies
were at least adequate. Weights
trending lighter but remain in the
desirable range at most plants.
Undertone steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at .47-
.53 cents.
