He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agnucltural journalism from the University of Wisconsin. Van Horn’s community ac tivities include mass com munications work for the College Area Council of Churches and the Nittany Mountain District of the Boy Scouts of America. Conservation tour planned FREDERICK, Md. - The Catoctin and Frederick Soil Conservation Districts in Maryland are once again holding their annual conservation tour on Nov. 13. The tour will be by bus, boarding at the 7th Street Shopping Center behind Murphy’s Mart at 9 a.m. and returing by 3:30 p.m. The stops will include sites showing con servation practices such as animal waste storage facilities, contour stripcropping, water supply ponds, spring developments and field diversions. The above practices were cost shared by Agriculture Stabilization & Conservation Service (ASCS) and the new Maryland Department Agricutlure funding progrlam. Lunch will be provided on the tour.
