Tuesday, Oct. 9 Report Supplied by USDA FRUIT VEGETABLES Apple Market Tuesday, October 9 Report supplied by PDA Good Morning, the apple market this past week was somewhat sluggish. Demand is down and supply is up. Prices are remaining stable. A bright area is int he field of export sales, where many growers have been sup plying a large order for Saudia Arabia. This activity is presently slowing down since much of the order has been filled. Apple shipments from the Carolina’s appear to be coming to an end as their supplies get shorter. This could help Pennsylvania markets to improve. We are in National Apple Month now, and the increased activities from the promotional people should be showing results soon. Brokers are reporting that orders should improve within two weeks or so as a result of the promotion being held now. SUMMARY Prices quoted below are wholesale, truckload, f.o.b. at the orchard or packing house.
