Descending on the Fairgrounds’ Cow Palace from Schellsburg, Pa., was a stampede of seven heifers exhibited by Falklands Farm that handily trampled the competition. In addition to taking both grand and reserve grand champion female honors, Falklands went home with the senior champion, junior champion and calf cham pion awards. Added to this list were senior get-of-sire, junior get of-sire, best six head, and premier exhibitor. For his grand champion female, judge Henry Bergfeld of Sum mitville, Ohio, selected FLF MPH Lady Hotline 3044, owned by Falklands Farm and Mohican Polled Herefords. Exhibited by Paul Slayton, the Mar.,‘B3 heifer is a PRL93OK Hotline 347 N daughter. At the reserve spot, judge Bergfeld placed another Hotline daughter, FLF BBH Lady Hotline 3025. This was the heifer that brought a top bid of $lOO,OOO from Dr. Lester Martin of Cincinnati, at Falklands’ production sale last month. Falklands retains showing rights on the fancy female until Jan., 1985. But their winning momentum failed to carry the Falklands en tries over a sky-high wall of bulls exhibited by Ace Polled Herefords of Millbrook, N.Y. Winning Ace bulls were named grand and reserve grand champions, senior Champion, calf and reserve calf champions. Ace’s Montie Soules showed the Reserve Champion Hereford- Phil Weaver Champion Simmental Stebbins, Ohio Reserve Champion John Callebs, Kent.
