Assistant General Manager of Inter-State, Robert M. Dever, addressed the group. Dever briefly reviewed the financial report of the cooperative and brought members up-to-date on the Abbott’s Dairies situation. He described the problem as “serious but manageable” because of the financial strength of the cooperative. Dever also summarized the changes in production and milk prices within the cooperative and throughout the dairy industry as a whole. Also reporting to the group was Roy H. Book, director. Gordon and Carol Hoover described their in volvement in Inter-State’s Young Cooperative program. Several co-op members received awards during the evening’s program. The Harold Book family received their 50-year membership award, the first-ever in the co-op’s history. Jacob and Edith Dienner receiv‘d a 25-year membership award. Naaman and Dorothy Stoltzfus and Robert and Thelma Bowman were presented with cost-of production awards for making their records available to the Inter- State officers for legislative purposes. New officers and delegates were elected for each of the three locals during the annual meeting. Also attending the meeting was Lancaster County Extension Dir ector Jay Irwin. Jere K.
