QUARRYVILLE - Except for
one set of title reversals in the
Cheviot competition, the Solanco
Fair’s Sheep Show was a rerun of
last year’s event.
The two MacCauley sisters from
Atglen were dominant figures in
the winners circle, with Nancy
showing the top ram and ewe in
Suffolk competition, and her sister
Donna doing likewise in the
Cheviot show. . Last year’s top
Cheviot exhibitor, Curt Barrett of
Cochranville, was nudged into the
reserve champion ewe position this
year.
The show’s top Hampshire ewe
was shown by Monica Esh of
Kinzers, and champion Shropshire
honors in both ram and ewe classes
went to Kirkwood’s Leonard
Brown.
In market lamb competition it
was the MacCauleys all the wav,
Junior division Ayrshire winners Cindy Gordon with
her reserve grand senior calf, at left, and Kris Esbenshade
with Lucky Lady,the grand champion.
