Riehl, 5 miles northeast of Oxford, Chester Co., Pa. The 70 head of grade Holstems were sold with the top cow bringing $1385. The second high was $1325 and the third high was $1275. A heifer sold for $695. Other prices were: pair of horses $1375, Sputnick $875, DeLaval milker unit $3BO, Lomabardi diesel $1350, Girton 800 gal. milk tank $1650, N.H. 456 mower $2600, N.H. 56 rake A District Heifer Sale was sponsored by the Church of the Brethren on Sept. 14 at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds off Route 72 south of Lebanon, Pa. There were 33 heifers sold for $41,910 or an average of $1270. Some of the animals were sold several times and the auctioned price donated. One animal brought $3OOO as the four purchasers paid $BOO, $825, $625 and $750. The top price for a Holstein heifer was $4500. Auctioneers were Lloyd Kreider, Randal Kline and Carl Diller.
