Demand for peaches during the
past week has been very good to
excellent. Early L' the period,
supply was running close to
demand and by week-end, supplies
began to drop, due to cool nights
during the period. Today, supplies
are running far behind demand.
There are peaches available
throughout the state and buyers
are searching for these. Prices
have been continuing to increase
as supply has been dropping.
Growers report adequate supplies
of Cresthaven and Redskins, which
are now beginning to mature.
Picking will begin on these
varieties toward week-end, thus
insuring adequate supplies for next

WEEKLY 51-CATTLE-Fed by
an advancing wholesale beef trade
and a good buyer demand, fed
cattle prices ranged 50-75 C higher
through midweek. Some market
interests took an optimistic stance
vis-a-vis longer term stability in
live price levels and seemed
willing to accure larger than usual
inventories. Overall finish still ran
mediocre, with the normal
pressure and discounts applied on
lightweight, “short-fed” kinds.
Cows 1.00-2.00 lower. Bulls 1.00
