Kubota cuts
COMPTON, Cal. - Kubota
Credit Corporation has announced
it will slash its financing rate Sept.
1 to 8.5 percent on all Kubota
tractors, implements and ex
cavators.
The new financing rate - the
lowest available from any tractor
company in the U.S. - can De
obtained for a limited time from
any of the nearly 1,000 par
ticipating JCuboata dealers across
the country.
In announcing the interest rate
cut, K. Morioka, president of
Kubota Credit Corporation, said,
“For some time, our below market
rate financing has enabled
customers to purchase Kubota
tractors at more reasonable rates.
As we expanded the credit
program to include all 50 states, we
wanted to do something special for
our customers.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. - At the
National FFA Conference on
Computers in Washington D.C.,
Farm Management System (FMS)
of New Lenox, 111. introduced its
grant program for schools and
FFA chapters. FMS Marketing
Director Andy Tarbox was
featured on an industry panel.
Schools and colleges teaching
vocational agriculture and to FFA
chapters can apply for $lOOO
grants, according to Tarbox. These
grants are good toward purchasing
a Financial Manager (TM)
Educational Version software
package.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - William
Voorhees, of Stewartsville, N.J.,
was recognized at the National
Com Growers Association Annual
Convention for winning first place
state honors in the NCGA no-till
com yield contest. Voorhees was
presented awards at an NCGA
luncheon, winners’ breakfast and
DeKalb-Pfizer Genetics reception.
He also shared his corn growing
experience with other farmers
during the convention.
He achieved his winning yield of
171.88 bushels per acre with
DeKalb-Pfizer EW-720. “Despite a
wet spring and dry summer,”
Voorhees says, “EW-720 stood
fairly well and had a good yield. It
also has a good husk cover to keep
birds out.”
Voorhees farms 950 acres with
his father, Arthur. They raise
soybeans, wheat, barley and
alfalfa hay and have 20 steers. He
is a member of the Warren County
Farm Bureau. He and his wife,
Georgene, have three children,
Bill, Natalie and Tara.
The National Corn Growers
Association, sponsor of the yield
contest, is a 16-state commodity
organization that is actively in
volved in com production and com
market development. Now in its
26th year, the association sponsors
annual yield contests, publishes a
national magazine and plays an
active role in legislative policy
making.
