LANCASTER Lancaster
County 4-H’ers celebrated their
achievements at their annual 4-H
Fair last Thursday at the Farm
and Home Center. Over 100 4-H’ers
received gold ribbons for their
outstanding project work, but the
highlight of the evening’s program
was the selection of the Out
standing 4-H Boy and Girl.
Selected Outstanding 4-H Girl
was Sherry Goss, 16, the daughter
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Goss, Mar
ticville. Sherry has been a member
of the Penn Willow Community 4-H
Club for eight years, and was a
teen leader with the county
babysitting club.
Outstanding 4-H Boy was Greg
Musset, 16, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Musser, Elizabethtown.
Greg is a member of the Red Rose
Baby Beef Club, the Elizabethtown
Sherry Goss and Greg Musser were named Lancaster
County’s outstanding 4-H Boy and Girl during the program at
the annual 4-H Fair held last Thursday. Both 4-H’ers will
represent Lancaster County’s 4-H program, speaking on
behalf of 4-H. They were selected for their achievements and
for their public speaking ability.
Richelle Bancak, Conestoga, shows some of the talent
which won her a first place in the annual 4-H talent contest.
Seated behind her are Lori Loeffler, Mountville, and Yvonne
Peters, Manheim. Lori was second place and Yvonne placed
third.
Lancaster Co. 4-H'ers celebrate achievements with 4-H Fair
Pig and Rabbit Club and the
Western Tractor Club. He is
president of the Elizabethtown
Future Farmers of America
chapter and is working as a
summer intern for Representative
Kenneth Brandt.
Other contestants were: Yvonne
Peters, 15, of Manheim who is a
member of the Mastersonville
Community Club and the Saddle
Cinches 4-H Horse Club; Dan
Fony, 15, Columbia, a member of
the Mountville Community 4-H
Club; and David Keller, 18, Lititz,
a member of the Elm Penryn 4-H
Club.
The contestants were judged on
a record of their 4-H activities, an
individual interview with the
judges and an answer to a spon
taneous question on stage.
