Kutztown FFA’ers (Continued from Page A 32) over again and not being able to get enough done in one hour after the way to do it was learned. “There were a few things we put in and tore out, and put in and tore out,” Reinert says before the correct way was learned. Andy Murphy, R 2 Kempton, is a ninth grade FFA member that was involved in the project. “It was great to get out of school,” he says. “We had a good time putting it up.” He adds that the students all agreed that the building was badly needed and took pride in the fact that they were building it. However, “the roof was a real pain,” Murphy complained. The roof caused a slight problem to some of the students. Many were afraid to work at that height and because it was made of onduline, the roof could not be walked on. According to Williams, however, one of the biggest problems was to get the students to hit the 40 penny pull n«il« into the treated lumber. Again, persistence paid off and the work moved ahead. On the last day of school, the building was completed. “I mean the last day of school,” Williams emphasizes. Students and advisors stayed until 7:30 to complete their EVERGREEN TRACTOR CO., INC. But they did. And the 1984 Kutztown Fair spectators saw it filled with sheep. Prior to that, the annual Kutztown Folk Festival which uses the same sight for the past 35 years utilized it as a food tent. Local and state cattle shows and sales can also look forward to the additional housing for their livestock. This week will see the building used as another ring for the district 4-H and FFA shows. A tribute was paid to the Kutz town FFA Chapter and the ad visors at the closing of the Kutz town Fair. Sam Yoder, livestock superintendent, thanked the members and advisors for their dedication and preserverence in constructing the much needed building. Everyone appreciated the spacious accommodations for the sheep after experiencing the crowded conditions of the year before. When looking back on a job well done, Andy Murphy states, “yea, no problem,” as he sums up the accomplishment of the year. MISCELLANEOUS: JD 6 Row 30" Rear Cultivator. 6 Row Hyd. Fold Cultivator .
