Corn irrigation (Continued from Page E3B) To/neasure how much water is actually being applied to the soil, Williams advises growers to use a senes of three tapered rain gauges per system. A few drops of light oil in the empty gauge will form a film over the water as the gauge fills and keep the water from evaporating before the level can be read. “This would csertainly be a good year to see a lot of 200-bushel-per acre irrigated corn yields,” con cludes Williams. “Water at the right time is the key.” : El\ U crS, r r umPS • Bam Cleaner Chains hhhShh • Bedding Choppers • Silage Carts • Manure Tanks Free Stalls • Self-Locking Panels • Comfort Stalls Available From • Gutter Grates WILBUR CRONK (717) 297-4246 Also See Ad On Pages 824 & 25 • Curtis-Toledo • DeVilbiss • Atlas-Copco • Speed Air • Joy Rotary Screw • Airline Equipment • Hydraulic Systems MANUFACTURERS OF THE STAUFFER AIR OPERATED WATER PUMP Aftercoolers, Air Dryers, Filters, Regulators, Lubricators, Air Hoses, Quick Couplers, Air Cylinders BALDOR ELECTRIC MOTORS Machine And Welding Service EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE Call STAUFFER'S MACHINE SHOP RD 3, Ephrata, Pa.
