pounds fat in 365 days.
Fantasy’s bid helped boost the
sale total to $74,475 on 45 head,
including two young calves.
Average per head was $1,655,
excluding the two calves.

Lancaster County Holstein Club
was Fultonway Glendell Rosette.
Consigned by J. Mowery Frey Jr.,
Willow Street, the bred heifer was
bought by Running Springs Farm,
Lancaster, for $4,400.
Sired by Glendell Arlinda Chief,
Rosette was bred in December to
Marshfield Elevation Tony. The
heifer’s dam, Bonnierest Elevation
Prize, scored Very Good-87 and
has a five year production record
of 20,640 pounds milk and 834
pounds fat with a 4.0 percent fat
test. The test was recorded in 306,
days.
Third high selling animal was
Fultonway Tradition Gracia, also
consigned by J. Mowrey Frey Jr.
Lawrence Moon bought the 2-year
old at $3,800 for the Dairy
Production Department,
University Park.
The daughter of Sweet Haven
Tradition, Gracia freshened in
May and recorded 73 pounds milk
at 3.7 percent fat on her first test.
Her dam, Fultonway Admiration
Glenda, scored Excellent and at
four years produced 23,569 pounds
milk and 703 pounds fat.
Other consignments selling for
over $3,000 were: Royal-Dream
Valiant Alvira, consigned by D.
Lamar Witmer, Manheim, and
bought by Robert S. Junge, New
Tripoli, for $3,600; and Spring-
Belle Valiant Popcorn, consigned
by Spring-Belle Farms, Lancaster,
and bought by Running Springs
Farm, Lancaster, for $3,200.
Chairman of this year’s sale was
D. Lamar Witmer, Manheim.
Selections were made by Paul B.
Welk, Peach Bottom; John H.
Howard, Willow Street; and Arlen
Keener, Mountville.
Michael Weimer was sale
autioneer. Pedigrees were read by
Jay Howes. Clerking the sale was
the Pa. Holstein Association.
