    NORRISTOWN “Montgomery
County’s 12th Annual Grange Fair
was a big success with the dairy
show attracting much attention,”
stated Edward J. Brzostek,
livestock chairman. Cindy
Waltemeyer judged this year’s
40 years of proof
Since 1940, Gehl has been building field
choppers and forage harvesters with one
thought in mind .performance. And, year
after year, thousands of satisfied owners
prove that we know how to use that special
ized experience to build better machines.
Today, Gehl concentrates those 40 years of
chopping know-how into three fuel-efficient,
high-capacity forage harvesters:
Capacity King 1250. The largest capacity
pull-type harvester on the market. Gehl’s
exclusive 24" spinner delivery system keeps
forage moving with no cross augers to plug
The giant, 9-kmfe, 251 V cylinder gives a
quality cut. And the new cutterbar adjustment
is the easiest anywhere. In-head hydraulic
knife sharpener and electric controls are
standard too.
New mid range 1000 gives you the high
capacity you'd expect from the big 21"
cylinder and fast spinner delivery system
Like the 1250, standard features include the.
In-head hydraulic knife sharpener, adjustable

Wayne Hinish, Associate Director
of the Penn State Cooperative
Extension Service has announced
that Alton E. Homan, Bradford
County Agent, has been promoted
to the rank of Senior Extension
Agent. This is the highest rank a
county agent within the
Cooperative Extension Service can
achieve.
His major responsibility is
agronomy education programs in
Bradford County. Other respon
sibilities are in community
development, horticulture, farm
management, 4-H/youth and
forestry.
Homan’s agronomy education
programs have resulted in in
creased crop yields. Alfalfa hay
yields, for example, have in
creased to tons of dry hay
equivalent per acre for some
cooperators compared to an
average production of less than 3
tons per acre.
During the past several years,
Homan has had outstanding
success in organizing two new
agricultural organizations in the
county; Bradford-Sullivan Crop
Improvement Association and
Bradford County Forest Lan
downers Association. He has
demonstrated outstanding
