PDA issues EDB test results HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Depart ment of Agriculture has approved registration of three chemical com pounds for use against com and orchard pests, according to state Agriculture Secretary Penrose Hallowell. Clearance has been provided for the com pound Lorshan 4E (EPA SLN NO. PA-840006). Manufactured by Dow Chemical Company, it has been registered by the Department for use on sweet com to control Army Worm and Com Ear Worm larvae. Mesurol 75 percent (EPA SLN NO PA -840007) is now registered with the Department for use in field com to control slugs. The pesticide is manufactured by Mobay Chemical Corporation. In addition, the Department has ap proved the use of Ramik Green (EPA SLN NO. PA-840009) manufac tured by Velsicol Chemical Corporation for use in dormant bearing and non bearing tree fruit or chards to control meadow and pine voles. Hallowell recom mended that users consult with Specialists with the Department’s Pesticide Division or appropriate chemical company represen tatives for application specifications, if they have any questions.
