GOSHEN Atglen’s Donna
MacCauley led the way to the
grand championship at the Chester
County 4-H Market Lamb Show on
Monday night at the Goshen
Fairgrounds. And two days later
her homegrown 113-pound Suffolk

turned out to be the most suc

With Brandywine Savings and
Betsy Colket's reserve champion Suffolk went to Southeast
National Bank's Atglen office. Pictured with Betsy is

After purchasing their lambs,
both Creutzburg and Southeastern
donated the animals back to the 4-
H’ers for resale.
Both champions were then
bought by C. Aquilante of Berwin,
who paid 85 cents for the grand
champion and 95 cents for the
reserve lamb. By the close of the
sale, Mr. Aquilante had purchased
12 lambs, more than enough to
qualify the Berwin meat retailer as
the sale’s most active buyer.
Aquilante also bought the
champion of the lightweight class,
owned by Jim Hawthorne. The son
of Coatesville residents Byron add
Mary Hawthorne, Jim’s 91-pound

A hefty 132-pound Hampshire
owned by Bunny Hicks, daughter
of Bob and Ginny Hicks of
Elverson, was named reserve
champion heavyweight. Hicks’
entry went to E. Fairbairn Con
tractors for 80 cents a pound.
Other buyers taking home 4-H
lambs included Horace D. Wilson
of Kimberton and Ken Smoker of
Walter M. Dunlap and Sons.
Buyers paid an average of $1.17
for the eight Dorsets, six Suffolks,
four Hampshires and two
