close slaughter steer and heifer
prices eased upward 25-500 on light
receipts this week. Although most
buyers expressed a need to pur
chase cattle for up-close slaughter
needs, generally negative profit
margins held a lid on price in
creases and kept the trade in a
cautious mood. Overall finish once
again proved ordinary with a large
share of the week’s consist falling
into the average good to low choice
bracket. Cows 1.001.50 lower.
