Pulling contests highlight
Butler Farm Show
BUTLER - The 36th Annual
Butler Farm Show scheduled for
August 6-11 on the farm show
grounds will feature plenty of
truck and tractor pulling action.
Beginning on Monday evening
with the 4-wheel-drive pulling
contest at 7 p.m., four-wheel-drive
contestants will vie for prize
money and prestige as they pull
weight against distance. Areha
gate price is $l.OO.
Tuesday evening finds the Super
Stock & Modified Tractor pull at 7
p.m. Admission to this event is
$3.00.
“Jack Fullerton’s Championship
Demolition Derby” is the highlight
of Wednesday arena action
beginning at 7 p.m. In this car
crashing spectacle, drivers are
only permitted to use three gallons
of gas before attempting to be the
“lone” moving vehicle. Purse is
set at $550.00 and the final event
will include 8 cars. Admission
price to this event is $3.00.
Friday night’s Large Tractor
Pulling Contest and Garden
Tractor Pull gets underway at 7:30
p.m. Skill of tractor handling and
tractor muscle are the two vital
aspects of this contest. Entry fee is
$2.00.
Beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday,
Large Tractor Pulls will be held
with a continuation of the pull at 7
p.m. the same evening.
Then the “big boys” take over
the arena when the Semi-Truck
Pull gets under way. The arena
lights accentuate the sparkling
chrome as the semi-truck cabs
attempt to prove who is really
“King of the Road”. Only $2.00 for
this all-night-long pulling contest.
The Butler Farm Show grounds
are located on Rt. 68, three miles
west of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Peach festival
scheduled
WEST CHESTER - Mar
shallton Grange is holding its
annual peach festival at the
Grange Hall in Northbrook on Aug.
9 starting at 7 p.m.
Music will be supplied by the
Royal Ramblers: there will be
peaches, ice cream, and home
baked cakes to eat; plus a hay ride,
white elephant table, bingo, cake
walk, clown and face painting.
