Krause of Slatington. Krause’s steer was sired by Pme Drive Big Sky and bred by Diane Krause. This year’s steer show was a new event for the Angus Breeders Show. According to PAA secretary Chet Hughes, the Association plans to expand its promotion of purebred steers, with a calf sale of purebred steers and heifers ten tatively scheduled for this fall. Lancaster County dominated the judging competition, winning first place in the ladies’, men’s and team divisions. First-place in the ladies division went to Barbara Weaver of New Holland, with Quarryville’s Ernest Frey topping the men’s division. The winning Lancaster County team was made up of Fritz Frey, Quarryville, Jan Waltz, Manheim, Margaret Herr, Narvon, and alternate Greg Musser of Elizabethtown. Junior division judging resulted in a three-way tie for first place between Lon Cash, Centre Hall, Chris Shive, Seven Valleys and Margaret Herr. A showmanship contest con cluded the day’s events, with Diane Krause of Slatington win ning senior division honors, and Fred Weaver of Ephrata topping the junior division.
