Fed. Cattle prices ranged steady
to 50C lower, for the week with the
most decline evident on lots
carryng increased percentages of
good grades. Steers under 1100 lbs
and heifers under 950 lbs also
experienced downward pressure
and a narrow demand. Early week
gains deteriorated at mid session
as dressed beef prices faltered and
slaughter rates ran fairly liberal.
Overall finish once again proved
mediocre. Cows 3.50-4.00 lower.
Bulls 1.50-2.5040wer.
Estimated 5 day receipts 8750,
actuals last week 10,659 and last
year 9068. Steers comprised 48
PCT of the week’s receipts, heifers
