6 6 Garden-Scoot”
A new product from the Eastern Atlantic Gift Company
takes the strain out of gardening chores that require
squatting and stooping.
Developed by a gardener, the “Garden-Scoot” is essen
tially a contoured steel tractor seat attached to a welded steel
frame. Its 15-inch height reduces fatique when planting,
thinning, weeding and picking garden vegetables.
The product’s seat swivels freely, and the semi-pneumatic
treaded tires roll freely over loose and well-tilled soils ac
cording to the manufacturer.
The two-wheeled “Garden-Scoots" sell for $54.95 post
paid. Optional Three Wheel Kit, containing a third wheel,
longer axle and hardware is an additional $16.00 postpaid.

Northumberland meeting on Tuesday
SUNBURY - The Nor
thumberland County Conservation
District is sponsoring a no-till
twilight meeting on Tuesday at
6:30 p.m. The purpose of the
meeting will be to observe the
results of no-till oats and no-till
soybean demonstration plots on
the Wilbur Corderman farm, R 2,
Watsontown.
The first part of the meeting,
6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be an on
site inspection of the demon
stration plots. The plots are
located one mile west of Tur
botville on Route 44, directly
across from Egli’s Garage.
The second part of the meeting, 7
p.m. to 9:20 p.m. will be held at
John Bomberger’s Star Silo shed
on Route 44. The shed is 0.4 miles
west of the demonstration plots.
Since this part of the meeting will
be held indoors, it will be held rain
or shine.
Several chemical company and
agency representatives will speak
on various aspects of no-till
planting. Jeff McClellan, Chevron
Chemical, will speak on designing
a no-till cropping system. Kent
Hams, Monsanto, and Steve
Fisher, FMC, will speak on no-till
weed control and insect problems
in no-till, respectively. The
meeting will serve as an update
training session for pesticide
