YORK The Central Region
Young Dairymen wrapped up their
June dairy month activities last
Saturday by filling the York Mall
with a series of fitness demon
strations, contests, UHT milk
samplings, dairy souvenirs,
sweepstakes signups and .that
perennial crowd-pleaser, cows and
calves.
A surprise contestant, Paul
Kitson, of the Baltimore Blast
soccer team, upset three other
contenders .in the cow milking
Curiously but cautiously, little Mandy Stackpoole, of
Manchester, Md., makes acquaintance with Hope, the Brown
Swiss.
Cows always draw spectators and milking out time by Dave Krone is no exception

contest. But he was defeated in the
ice cream eating runoffs by P.M.
Magazine’s Blake Powell, who
downed a pint of ice cream in two
minutes and 40 seconds. Other
contestants included Congressman
Bill Goodling and Bruce Collins of
98 YCR radio.
In keeping with a fitness theme
for the promotion, the day’s
scheduled special events included
performances by aerobics and
jazzercise groups, a karate
demonstration and bodybuilders.
