AgMaster unit reported
MADISON, Wi. - A new field
model applicator for incorporating
AgMaster silage inoculants during
forage harvesting is now available
from Marschall Products, Miles
Laboratories, Inc., and authorized
AgMaster dealers.
The new Model BT Applicator is
specially designed to provide
thorough, even inoculation of
alfalfa or com silage stored in
bunker or trench-type silos or in
plastic haylage bags. It also is
ideally suited for field treatment of
silage put up in conventional
upright or sealed storage silos.
According to the Agri-Products
Division of Marschall Products,
the new chopper-mounted
AgMaster applicator unit saves
valuable filling time while en
suring proper dispersion of
inoculant throughout the ensiled
forage crop.
AgMaster inoculants contain
high concentrations of freeze-dried
bacteria which are activated when
mixed with water just prior to
application. They are then sprayed
directly onto the chopped forage
crop. This liquid application
method speeds the silage fer
mentation process while
minimizing the development of
“hot spots” in the silo because the
inoculant is uniformaly mixed
throughout the silage.
Marschall also relates that the
liquid field applicator may im
prove chopper efficiency by
providing moisture to the cutting
bars and blades. Equipment trials
have shown that the addition of
water during chopping aids in
keeping chopper blades sharp and
providing a proper length of forage
cut.
The AgMaster BT Model Ap
plicator is factory assembled, and
inoculant flow rates are pre
calibrated to ensure accurate,
reliable treatment of chopped
forage. The sturdy metal frame
which supports the Model BT
Applicator can be mounted
directly to the chopper or round
baler or affixed to the tractor.
Each field model applicator umt
features a 50-gallon white tran
slucent platic drum with
removable screw-type lid; a 12-
volt pump with electrical wire,

Allied employees form new fertilizer company
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. -
Arcadian, the brand name of Allied
Corporation’s fertilizer line for
more than 50 years, has been
adopted as the corporate name of a
few independent fertilizer com
pany managed and partly owned
by former Allied employees.
Arcadian Corporation is
dedicated to developing, producing
and marketing quality nitrogen
and phosphate based fertilizers
and related products, including
Uran nitrogen solution, Suran
nitrogen-sulfur solution and Poly-
N ammonium polyphosphate
solution.
The company’s management
team is primarily comprised of
former Allied marketing, sales and
research personnel. Herbert
Kirby, previously general
manager-agricultural products for
Allied Chemical, is president of the
new concern.
In September, following the
traditional spring fertilizer season,
Arcadian will establish permanent
headquarters in Parsippany, N.J.,
30 miles west of New York City. In

Honda offers versatile four-wheeler
New this year from the veteran manufacturer of motorcycles and ATCs is the
TRX2OO, a four-wheel-drive work/pleasure vehicle built primarily for hauling. The
TRX2OO harnesses the power generated by its 192 cc four-stroke engine to a five-speed
transmission featuring both high and low ranges. The maneuverable workhorse also
features shaft drive, solid state CD ignition, heavy-duty electric starter and front and
rear carrier racks.
the interim, the company will
operate out of its present quarters
in Morns Township, N.J.
A shift in Allied Corporation’s
overall marketing strategy led to
the sale of the liquid-fertilizer
business. Last December, an in
vestment group headed by E.F.
Hutton and Allied’s fertilizer
marketing team agreed in prin
ciple to form an independent
fertilizer company.
The new company is sponsoring
fertilizer-efficiency research at
seven land-grant colleges in 1984.
Projects at other unviersities are
expected to resume in 1985.

Arcadian, the brand name of Allied Chemical's fertilizers
since 1928, has been adopted as the corporate name of a
new, independent agrichemicals company managed and
partly owned by former Allied executives. The Arcadian name
is already emblazoned on scores of fertilizer applicators, such
as the one shown here, and storage tanks across the country.

Wet Feeders
10-15% Better Feed Conversion With
Liquid Feed!
FASTER GAINS ON LESS FEED
• Rugged 14-gauge type .304 stainless steel
throughout entire feeder makes the Modem
Ag Feeder as tough as they come.
• Hogs lick the platter clean when water and feed
are combined in trough. This contributes to a
10% to 15% improvement in feed efficiency.
Hogs go to market 10 days to two weeks faster
on wet feed compared to dry feed.
• You get reduced feed wastage. Hogs get their
water and feed at the same place. No need to
carry feed on snout or mouth to waterer, where
it is sloughed off into holding pit. Hogs feed
faster, too, making it possible to supply more
pigs with fewer feed holes. Pen square footage
per pig can also be reduced.
• Get little pigs off to fast start. Young pigs will
drink before they eat. When you combine feed
and water at the same source you give those
little pigs fast, healthy starts.
Also Available:
• Farrowing Crate Feeders
• Pre-Nursery & Nursery Feeders
