generally steady - .50 higher thru
midweek, with the advance con
fined to moderate supplies of
Choice Steers over 1075 lbs. and
same grade Heifers over 950 lbs.
lighter weight, under finished
offerings experienced a narrowed
demand and prices on many of
these kinds .50 to as much as 1.00
lower. At midweek, the general
tone of the market was on the weak
side; but receipts ran light enough
to halt any market decline. Cows
and Bulls steady -1.00 lower.
Estimated 5 day receipts 11,300;
actuals last week 10,438 and last
year 12,164. Steers comprised 52
pet. of the week’s receipts; Heifers
38 pet; Cows 7 pet; Feeders 2pet.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: At the
close, Choice 2-4 1075-1275 lbs.
65.00-66.00. Mixed good and Choice
2-3 1000-1150 lbs. 62.50-65.00. Few
