dairy princess
CARLISLE Vonda Kay
Wickard is the 1984 Cumberland
County Dairy Princess.
Carolyn Myers, 1983 dairy
princess, crowned Vonda on
Friday following an evening which
involved special music by the
group “Chapter Seven.” The event
was held at the Embers Con
vention Center Quality Inn,
Carlisle.
Vonda, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. Duane Wickard, R 3
Newville, will represent Cum
berland County dairy farmers in
the coming year. She is a 1982
graduate of Big Spring High School
and is presently enrolled at
Shippensburg University, where
she is studying accounting.
Vonda was active in high school,
acting as class vice-president in
her freshman and sophomore
years and as a homeroom
president for all four years of high
school. She was also a member of
the National Honor Society and the
chorus. Vonda also used her
musical talents in the school’s
musical.
A member of the Newville
Assembly of God Church, Vonda
helps with the Christ’s Am
bassador’s Youth Group and works
parttime at the Forrest Park
Nursing Home as well.
Vonda brings to the crown an
educated background and an eager
