MARKET COMMENT: Prices
are trending 1 cent higher on large
sizes, unchanged on mediums.
Cartoned egg orders are fair to
good and generally best where
featuring is a factor. Supplies of
jumbos and extra large are
reduced as a result of hot humid
weather conditions and orders are
frequently cut.
Supplies of large are irregularly
distributed and range from fully
adequate to tight. Mediums and
smalls are easily available and
offered as attractive feature items
with only limited success.
Heavyweight gradable nest runs
are sought in many quarters.
Undertone fully steady to firm.

Thursday, June 14
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Movement of
ready to cook whole birds con
tinues to be sluggish, and sellers
are in active search of buyers.
Parts items move with only slight
improvement and generally only
as a result of lower asking prices.
Slaughter schedules are
moderately heavy today. Live
supplies are at least adequate with
weights in a wide range but
trending more desirable than past
few days. Undertone weak.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
mostly 1 cent lower on U.S. Grade
A at 51-56 cents.
