Slaughter steers and heifers
were sharply lower this week. At
midweek steers and heifers were
fully 1.00 to 2.00 lower. Cows and
bulls steady to weak. The market
opened the week steady on steers
and heifers, but on Wednesday
prices were showing the full
decline for the week despite
reduced receipts. Receipts this
week about 1400 as compared to
1521 a week ago and 2591 a year
ago.
SLAUGHTER STEERS: Choice
24 1100-1250 lbs. 63.5(164.50 on
Monday with part load YG 4 1260
lbs. 61.00; Some choice 2-3 1126-
1200 lbs. Wednesday 62.0063.00
mostly in part load sales. Choice 2-
