Growing Herd Replacements, Milking Herd, And Dry
Cows.
Our textured Pel-Flake Calf Starter is a very palatable feed with
18% crude protein. It helps give your growing herd replacements a
head start. Feed the calf starter until calves are approximately 3
months of age.
Our Calf Grower Pellets are a 16% crude protein feed recom
mended from 3 months to approximately 6 months of age. Limit
feeding to no more than 5 pounds per head per day. Keep fresh,
clean water, and good quality hay available at all times.
After herd replacements reach 6 months of age switch to Dry Cow
Feed. Feeding at the rate of 5 pounds per head per day provides for
adequate daily intakes of vitamins and selenium. Be careful not to
over condition dry cows and springing heifers.
The textured Pel-Flake Feeds are available in 14,16,18 and 20%
crude protein levels. Which one you need is based upon your forage
feeding program. Recommended levels of feeding are also given to
assure that nutrient requirements are met.
32% and 40% Dairy Concentrates are also available to compliment
your home grown grains. The 32% is available in pellets and works
well with a high moisture ear corn program.
During periods of high production cows are under added stress.
With that in mind our Dairy Conditioner was developed to be fed at
the rate of 1 lb. per head per day from “calving to conception.” The
conditioner contains added vitamins, yeast culture, methionine,
and niacin (a B-vitamin), with 20% crude protein.
