Testifying on behalf of the Milk
Marketing Board, Charles
Wismer, Master of the Pa. State
Grange, said the board provides a
necessary service to farmers.
“As a dairy farmer,” Wismer
said, “the Milk Marketing Board
provides a place to go to if we have
a problem such as butterfat testing
or receiving our milk checks.” The
Board, he added, provides price
stability and maintains the
security fund on behalf of
dairymen.
Donald Ranck, a Lancaster
County dairymen representing the
Pa. Farmers Association, said the
continuation of the Board is
necessary. “We recognize the
contribution that the Board has
made to our industry and
wholeheartedly support the
enactment of legislation to re
establish this invaluable agency,”
Ranch said.
