Good crowd, active bidding, at Md. Nat’l Angus Sale
January 1980 daughter of
Schearbrook Shoshone consigned
by Chester Hughes of Lancaster,
Pa. The buyer was R and G Angus
of Campbell Hill, New York.
Also selling for $2500 was
Skarship Maid of Bummer E 202, a
March, 1982 Skarship Educator
daughter. Consigned by Southern
Cross Angus of Boyds, Md., the
cow was sold to Frank Garrett,
Myersville, Md.
Top selling open heifer was P S
Playmate, a Penn State con
signment sired by Power Play. The
April, 1983 heifer was sold to
George Evans of Marshallton,
Del., for $1350. This heifer was one
of five consigned by Penn State
and sold in a breeder’s sweep
stakes, where the top bidder took
his pick of the offering and was
awarded the option to breed his
animal to any Penn State sire.
Only three bulls were offered,
with two being sold prior to sale
time. The remaining bull, a Mar
Lee Farm consignment from
Woodboro, Md., was Mar Lee
Power Pack T 302, a January 1983
son of SVF Power Pack, sold to
Raymond Poole, Poolesville, Md.,
for $775.
