(Continued from Page Al) little expert help and a management plan might be worth double or more of its present value. “A variety of foresters are available to help fanners with their woodlots,” explains Ken Olenderski, of the Pennsylvania Forestry Association. “The forester is interested in managing the timber for main taining and renewing a natural resource. “The farmer as a landowner is interested in getting the most economic return from that wooded acreage. “And, these two goals work together very nicely.” One such agriculturist and landowner who is finding this out is Lloyd E. Lerew, of Lerew Farm Markets, Inc., along Rt. 74 north of Dover in York County. The Lerew operation, which has about 100 acres in orchards - primarily apples and peaches, also includes some 103 acres of woodland. It is now in its second year of participation in the American Tree Farm Program and is also a member of the Glatfelter Tree Farm Family. “I look at the Tree Farm Program as a long-term in vestment and making better use of roughly half of our land,” Lerew explains. the blueprints for ac- * CURTAIN WALL JJj FOUNDATION MATERIAL Using Earth Anchors (To Butler Specifications). *No Farmstead 9 1 or One Bay Buildings Qualify.
