Veterinarian. In this position, Dr.
Milburn will assist with the herd
health aspects of more than 750
bulls.
Dr. Milbum is a native of Illinois
and a graduate of Southern Illinous
University in Animal Industries.

theast Regional Agricultural
Engineering Service.
“The 88-page handbook is called
Small Farms - Livestock Buildings
and Equipment, and it can help
you plan, design and construct
facilities for livestock,” says
University of Delaware extension
agricultural engineer Jim Scar
borough. “It can also help you
adapt or modify existing buildings
on your farm.”
The handbook includes
guidelines for basic farmstead
planning, site selection and space
planning. A livestock chapter gives
housing requirements for swine,
beef, dairy cattle, goats, horses,
sheep, poultry and rabbits. To
reduce production costs, en
closed housing using natural

Dr. Milburn spent two years in
Washington as a veterinarian in a
mixed-practice where he became
acquainted with many types of
beef and dairy operations. He has
more recently worked in Wisconsin
as a food animal practitioner.
