Market Comment: Pricing is
irregular. Most plants are bidding
lower but usually by week’s end
have to pay at least today’s mostly
to insure getting sufficient live.
Even then plants are not running
full. Offerings remain spotty
despite sharply lower shell egg
values. Undertone unsettled.

Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, May 3
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Movement on
ready to cook whole birds is fair to
occasionally good, but overall
demand is disappointing.
Clearances are fair but the
availability of 3 lb. and over sizes
continue to be a drag on the
market. The movement on parts is
only fair; cutlets, breasts and legs
are adequate while leg quarters
and wings are fully adequate to
ample.
live supplies are at least
adequate and weights overall are
heavy. Undertone mixed.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at 53-58
cents.

MARKET COMMENT; Prices
unchanged to lower. Undertone
continues to show a weakness
pricewise but the sentiment is
starting to show some steadiness
at the lower values. Cartoned egg

features are in progress, light to
fair for regular business. Floor
stocks of large and extra large are
fully adequate to ample for needs
and additional product is
available.
Mediums are irregular, but
those dealers needing a few extra
