SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -
Chevron Chemical Company has
announced that over the next
several months it will restructure
operations of its Ortho
Agricultural Chemicals Division.
Included will be a realignment of
Ortho’s marketing, manufac
turing, and research/product
development organizations.
The national and international
marketing groups will continue to
be located at Ortho’s San Fran
cisco Headquarters, and will be
headed by A.V. Dearman,
Manager-Marketing. Reporting to
him will be: W.E. Ennen,
Manager-National Sales; I.J.
Ravel, Manager-International
Sales; L.W. Rourke, Manager of
Products; and C.H. Lupsha,
Manager-Administrative Services.
Four new domestic regional
marketing offices will be
established at Atlanta, Ga. (East);
Fresno, Calif. (West); Chicago, 111.
(North); and Memphis, Term.
(South). Current district sales
offices will be closed; three sales
supervisors will be located in each
region, with support and super
vision located at the regional of
fices.

Southern Regional Manager.
Ortho will consolidate
manufacturing operations, as well
as supply and distribution ac
tivities. Eventually all liquid
products will be packaged at the
Fort Madison, lowa, plant, and all
dry products will be packaged at
the Maryland Heights, Mo., plant.
The Richmond, Calif., plant will
continue as a pesticide
manufacturing facility. The plants
at South Plainfield, N.J., and Troy,
Ala., will be closed during 1985.

Ground has already been broken
for construction of the new Ortho
Research Center, a two-bullding,
135,000 square-foot facility in
Richmond, Calif. Located adjacent
to Ortho’s existing environmental
protection research laboratories,
the new scientific complex will
include chemical and biotechnical
laboratories, office facilities and a
library to support 350 researchers
and technicians.
Dr. H.J. Aroyan, Director-
Research, will continue to direct
Ortho’s R&D activities. Now
reporting to him will be: Dr. L.R.
Griffith, Manager-Inventive
• Research; C.R. Tanner, Manager-
Development Research; and Dr.
R.D. Wessel, Manager-Projects &
Acquisitions.
