A panel of three judges will in terview contestants before the pageant to test their knowledge of the dairy industry. Contestants will also present a promotional skit about milk and/or dairy products. The contestants were introduced to the program at an orientation session and several workshops will be held before the pageant. Workshops will include public speaking, poise, makeup, cow science and nutrition. A junior at Hamburg Area Junior Senior High School, Tammy Moll is involved in the library club, Spanish club, chorus, and the junior class play. She is also the vice president of the Tilden 4-H club and belongs to St. Michael’s Church. Her parents, Mark and Betty Moll, milk 24 Holstein cows. She is a member of the Northern Berks 4-H Dairy Club, Wrowdy Wranglers 4-H Horse Club and the Holstein Association. In high school she participates in track, field hockey, chorus and advanced art. Her parents milk 71 Holstein cows. The third contestant, Deborah Price, was valedictorian of the 1983 Daniel Boone High School class. She is currently attending Penn State University to study dairy production. She is a member of the Eastern Berks 4-H Dairy Club, Berks Goat and Poultry and Oley Saddle-ites Horse Club. The daughter of Jere and Patricia Price, Deb was the 1983 Berks County Outstanding 4-H girl, received the I dare you award and was the Eastern National Junior Dairyman of the Year. She owns three Guernsey animals. Tammy Schlappich, daughter of Arthur and Liz Schlappich, is a senior at Schuylkill Valley High School. She is a camp fire member, and a Sunday School teacher at Belleman’s Church. She received a 1983 Outstanding Youth Recognition Award from the Riwanis Club of Reading. She also List $594.00 . She is currently employed at the Laurel Nursing Home and plans to attend Reading Hospital School of Nur sing to become a Registered Nurse. She is a member of Frieden’s Union Church where she is involved in the Youth Fellowship, planning committee, and as Sunday School teacher. She is also a member of the Shar tlesville Grange, where she has served as Junior Leader and currently is the Youth Chair person. Her parents milk 45 Holstein cows. The winner of the county com petition will be eligible to compete in the state contest in September in Harrisburg.
