Round Valley Riders
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Ten
members of the Round Valley
Riders 4-H Horse Club took part in
the County Presentation Contest
held last month.
Several members gave
presentations at 4-H Day at the
mall. The club will set up a window
display from May 5-12 for the
county contest. Their club horse
show is scheduled for Saturday,
May 19 at the Round Valley Youth
Center.
Five members plan to take part
in the State 4-H Horse Show tryouts
scheduled for June 9 and July 7.
Final details for the club horse
show will be discussed at the next
meeting, scheduled for Monday,
May 7, club reporter, Shennee
Foldy, said.
Three bridges Green Clovers
4-H Prep Chib
Members in the Three Bridges
Green Clovers 4-H Prep Club went
on two field trips during March and
early April. They visited the
Flemington National Bank in
Three Bridges and learned how the
bank takes care of their money.
Another field trip took them to
the Grand Union supermarket in
Flemington. The manager
discussed shop lifting with the
members. The group learned
different clues they can use to
catch shop lifters.
A trip to a dairy or chicken farm
will be held later this month, club
reporter, Lorraine Calvaluzo said.
Tally-Ho 4-H Horse Club
Cynthia Branigan was the guest
speaker at the Tally Ho 4-H Horse
Club’s April meeting. Miss
Branigan is an employee of the
Funds for Animals organization.
She explained the objectives of the
organization to the members.
Members set up a display at 4-H
Day at the mall. The club’s horse
show will be held at the Round
Valley Youth Center on Sunday,
May 27. New members are
welcome to attend club meetings
which are held on the first Friday
of each month at the Extension
Center. Their next meeting will be
held on May 4, said Erin Smith,

Country Cooks 4-H Club
Country Cooks 4-H Club mem
bers participated in 4-H Day at the
mall. They planted and entered
dish gardens in the Horticulture
Show.
Several members entered the
Cake Decorating Contest. The club
showed how to make candy for the
foods demonstration protion of the
program. Members made aprons
which were worn at 4-H Day at the
mall, said Rachel Heidel, club
reporter.
Livewlres 4-H Club
A new 4-H club has been formed
in the Readington Town
ship/Neshanlc Station area. The
Live Wires 4-H Club will work in
the cooking, bicycle motorcross,
electric and woodworking
projects.
Leaders of this new group are:
Donna Cole, Barbara Bond, Ted
Bachardy, Mike French and Rich
Opdyke. Members Brad Cole and
David Porter gave presentations
last month at the county contest.
The group did foods demon
strations at 4-H Day at the mall.
Other club members are: Chris
French and Zachary Falls of
Centerville and Mark Bachardy of
Felmington. Members will work on
their electric projects at their next
meeting, Brad Cole, club reporter,
said.
Cherryville Homemakers
Members in the Cherryville
Homemakers 4-H Club par
ticipated in 4-H Day at the mall.
Four members modeled in the
Clothing Council Fashion Show.
They were: Kathy Cerenzo,
Danielle Ponzio and Romona and
Holly Sy. Danielle Ponzio and
Holly Sy gave a presentation on
Cabbage Patch Kids during the
day.
Joining them at the arts & crafts
demonstration table were Traci
Horvath and Wendy Sutphin. The
girls made kitchen magnets.
The group is selling Four Square
Value Coupon Books. They will set
up a window display for the county
contest in May, according to club
leader Doris Lefebvre.
