Alarm Systems
Many farms have alarm
systems, and unless they are
tested regularly to determine that
they will function immediately in
an emergency, they can create a
false sense of security. It is im
portant to use a test record form. It
should contain columns for en
tering the date of the test, initials
of persons performing the test, and
comments. An alarm system
should be tested at a specific time,
at least once a week. The complete
forms should be filed for insurance
purposes. If the system is not
designed to operate under farm

Richard Kriebel family of Stone-
Gables Farm, Millerstown, Perry
County, has made a special con
signment to the Central Pa. Classic
Sale on April 24.
All proceeds from the sale of
their special consignment animal
will be donated to the Perry County
Junior Holstein Dairy Bowl Team
to help finance their trip to the
National Holstein Convention in St.
Louis, Mo. in June.
This consignment is a three
year-old cow, Stone-Gables P.
Comet Candace, a Woodbine Pearl
Comet daughter from a Good-Plus
82 point Astronaut dam with
conditions, the chances for
malfunction are increased. Dust
and dander, fertilizers and
chemicals, gases and vapors are
all problems that can cause
malfunctions on most alarm
systems which use electro
mechanical components. Also,
power surges and lightning can be
most damaging.

mary. She is bred to Ocean-View
Sexsation and is due to calve May
1.
This will be the third animal that
has been donated to help sponsor
Junior Holstein and 4-H Dairy
activities in Perry County. The last
heifer was sold through the Perry
Princess Promotional Sale and
came from the Alfred Albright
family. She was purchased by
Kreider’s Mill of Loysville.
“Candace” will sell at the
Central Pa. Classic Sale on April 24
at the Reedsville Youth Park,
Reedsville.

MEADVILLE - The Crawford
County Fanners Association held
its annual Spring meeting on
March 29 at Dantes Restaurant
near Meadville. Nearly sixty
persons enjoyed the delicious noon
luncheon buffet on the blustery
day.
President Jack Post presided
over the discussion on dues in
crease along with Regional
