$6,100. Butterlock Valiant Harris-
ET, consigned by Harris Bros.,
Tyrone, was bought by the Fine
Nine Syndicate also of Tyrone.
The daughter of SWD Valiant,
Harris-ET comes from an ex
cellent dam of 94 points. Lakeflow
Ivanhoe Astronaut produced 32,390
pounds of milk with a 3.3 percent
f?t test at eight years. Her highest
production record was at five
years with 36,178 pounds of milk
and 3 8 percent fat.

HARRISBURG It was “in like
a lion and out like a lamb,” for the
Pa. Holstein Spring Show and Sale
held March 29 and 30, as heavy
snowfall accompanied Thursday’s
events while sunny skies and warm
temperatures were on hand for
Friday’s calf sale.
Although the snowstorm
Thursday kept bidding to a
minimum during the bred heifer
sale, the welcome sunshine on
Friday encouraged buyers to dig a
little deeper in their pockets. The
184 consignments averaged $1,148
per head for a sale total of $211,232.

Valiant sired calf is the daughter of
an excellent dam, Henry-Acres
Elevation Joyce, who produced
36,193 pounds of milk at a 3.3
percent test at seven years.
The March 1983 calf, Walebe
Bova Tillie, was consigned by
Walebe Partners I and EmTran,
Elizabethtown At two years,
Tillie’s dam, Bootmaker Tilhe-ET,
produced 18,420 pounds of milk at a
3.6 percent fat test. The calf’s sire
is Rockalli Son of Bova.
