MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged to higher. Cartoned egg
movement is fairly good overall.
Orders to regular accounts are
fair, but where promotions are in
progress, orders are generally
good. A good buying interest still
exists for gradable nest runs, but
there is some reluctance to pay
current asking prices. Offerings
are limited and help with much
confidence.
Prices to retailers: sales to

Market Comment; Pricing is

reflecting deliveries for next week.
The undertone is weak as further

anticipated.

The customer who received that first delivery of Moyer's Chicks
in January 1947 was, no doubt, unimpressed with the delivery
vehicle. Six boxes of baby chicks in the back seat of a 1941
Oldsmobile Sedan was indeed a humble beginning!
More impressive was Moyer's determination to make the
delivery on time and with a minimum of stress. The first challenge
was digging through the snowdrifts in front of the hatchery!
Today Moyer's is no less determined to meet the industry's
challenges of large volumes of chicks hatched and delivered with
minimal stress. Now Moyer's hatches more in one day than the
sum total of 68,000 for the first whole year in 1947.
Deliveries of up to 50,000 chicks per load are made com
fortably year round in Moyer’s climate-controlled vans.
Yes, we've come a long way, and our sights are set on the
bright new challenging horizon of the future.

Delmarva Poultry

Market Comment: Movement on
R.T.C. whole birds is slow to oc
casionally fair, and leg quarters
continue to clear fairly well, while

moderate to heavy. Live supplies
are adequate at generally
desirable weights. Undertone
steady but cautious.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at 59-64
cents.
