ranged 50-1.00 higher for the week
with an advancing beef market
lending encouragement to the
upturn. Day to day demand proved
good not only from packers, but
also from buyers of steers suitable
for a short turn in the feedlot.
Overall finish ran less attractive
than recent weeks with muddy
cattle presenting serious problems
to the trade. Cows 1.00-1.50 higher.
Bulls steady.
Estimated 5 day receipts 9750,
actuals last week 8610 and last
year 11413. Steers comprised 46 pet
of the week’s receipts; heifers 38
pet; feeders 7 pet; cows 8 pet.

Poultry course planned
FIJSMINGTON, N.J. - A two
night poultry short course for
small flock owners is scheduled for
Thursdays, April 5 and 12, by the
Hunterdon County Cooperative
Extension Service. Sessions begin
at 7:30 p.m. m Hunterdon’s Ex
tension Center, according to Calvin
Wettstein, county agricultural
agent.
Instructors are members of the
Rutgers’ Cooperative Extension
staff and include, in addition to the
local agent, John Bezpa, Extension
Specialist in Poultry Science, and
