MYERSTOWN - In addition to
the honoring of its trio of “stars,”
the ELCO FFA annual parent
member banquet on Tuesday night
featured the presentation of
several special awards.
The chapter’s stars include
Glenn Kurtz, Star Greenhand,
Bryan Eberly, Star Farmer; and
Dale E. Weaver, Star
Agribusinessman.
The chapter established a new
award that will be presented an
nually in memory of Susan L.
Heilmger, who had served as a
very active member of the chapter
dedicated to the ideals of FFA. The
first of these memorial awards
went to Bryan Eberly.
John E. Weaver, of Myerstown,
also received a special plaque for
having three sons in FFA.

1975.
Glen Wenger, who was
recognized for attaining Eastern
Regional Star Agribusinessman
honors and being a national officer
candidate during the past year,
also had a special presentation in
his role as president of the ELCO
FFA Alumni. The plaque award
went to Clifford McQuate, who had
performed special services for the
alumni.
Another major presentation was
a Distinguished Service Award
plaque to Mrs. Verna Kline,
Honorary chapter Degrees were
presented to James Diehm, Mrs
Richard Levandusky and Mrs.
Gerald L. Stnckler.
Certificates of appreciation went
to Mrs. Edna Deck, Richard
Levandusky, Norman Kline, Miss
Route 30 west of Bedford. Sixteen
calves have been consigned.
Following the sale, the business
meeting will be held, and guests
are invited to attend the barbeque
right at the sale grounds. Guest
speaker will be William C. Heald,
Penn State dairy extension
specialist.
