The Federation sells tickets to the banquet through a network of voluntary salespeople from its membership list. Hoffman credits banquet co chairman Jay Greider of Greider’s Hatchery in Elizabethtown, and Mel Mitchell of V.F. Weaver, Inc., New Holland, with getting the word out to salesmen that the need to actively show support for the Federation is greater this year than it has ever been. Both Greider and Mitchell are pleased at the numbers so far and hope to be able to match last year’s sales before April 5, the date of the banquet. The gala banquet, which is the largest poultry related event in the Northeastern United States, features a social hour and dinner followed by entertainment from some of the top stars in America. This year, the featured en tertainers are country western recording star Reba McEntire and comedian David Brenner. The same format that was used last year, which had attendees en joying their meal and then proceeding to another large room to watch the show, will be used again at this year’s banquet. Tickets for this year’s banquet, which will be held at the Hershey Convention Center, can be pur chased by contacting the Penn sylvania Poultry Federation office in Harrisburg at (717) 652-7530. rs & Parti ra "S" Series
