Arthur Hershey was awarded
first in the silage contest,
producing 20 tons of silage at 9.0
total digestible nutrients (TDN).
Other winners were: William
Stoltzfus, second, 13 tons at 8.1
TDN; Nelson Stoltzfus, third, 22
tons at 7.95 TDN; and John
Brubaker, fourth, 21 tons at 7.89
TDN.
Youth Conservation
School Planned
LANCASTER - A Youth Con
servation School is again being
sponsored jointly by the Lancaster
county Conservation District and
the Federated Sportsman’s Clubs
of Lancaster County. The School is
a week-long resident camp that is
held at the Northern Lancaster
County Fish and Game Association
grounds in West Cocalico Town
ship
Boys and girls, ages 14-16, are
eligible to attend through spon
sorship by a Sportsman’s Club, an
environmental group, or possibly,
a service organization. The cost to
attend is $65 per student. Dates for
this year’s School are July 22-28

troduce youth to natural resource

a slide presentation on European
agriculture by Newton Bair,
former Lebanon County extension
agent.
