SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - The
Blue Mountain Chapter of the
Future Farmers of America
celebrated it’s members
achievements Thursday evening,
Feb. 23, at the annual awards
banquet.
Brian Krepps, McKeansburg,
was awarded the Star Greenhand
plaque. The son of Russell and
Barbara Krepps, 14-year-old Brian
began his agricultural projects in
January. Hoping to continue on to
computers, Brian is currently

Saying that Paul Laubenstem,
Freidensburg, has the most

Sixteen-year-old Paul is the son of
Paul and Teresa Laubenstem. He
currently works on a dairy farm.
His goal is to travel to Montana
and become an outfitter and guide.

The theme of this year’s meeting
is “Our Keys to the Future”
focusing on advertising and
promotion as a key solution to
today’s dairy surplus. Featured
will be the new milk advertising
theme, “Milk’s Got More.”
James P. Camerlo, Chairman of
the United Dairy Industry
Association, will be the keynote
speaker during the evening
banquet.

The morning program will
contain the main business
meeting, providing an overview of
ADA/DC’s 1984 promotion
program. The luncheon address
entitled “Technology in the Dairy
Industry” will be delivered by
David Call, Dean of Agriculture
and Life Sciences, Cornell
University.
The afternoon will focus on
Dairy Council’s nutrition
education program. Highlighted
will be A. Elizabeth Sloan, Ph.D.,
Director of the Good Housekeeping
Institute. Her talk, entitled “The
Consumer Speaks,” will focus on
today’s food issues and marketing
trends.
